Caera - BellaOnline Radio

Caera - BellaOnline Radio I write books set in medieval times, so I'm always interested in listening to music that would have been enjoyed by people of this time period. Caera's lovely music is all done on a brass-strung clairseach harp, which is the historic style of harp played during this time period. Her harp playing is quite lovely, and her vocal accompaniment is equally wonderful.

One of the songs, Einini, is a traditional Irish song and is sung a capella. The remaining songs are either instrumentals or harp-plus vocals, and the language is English or Irish. There's a lovely selection here. I enjoyed the soothing sounds of Lullaby for Eileen, as well as the gorgeous instrumental Carolan's Welcome. I could just imagine this music filling a medieval feast hall while the Lord and Lady presided over a gathering.

Well recommended for anyone who loves harp music, or who would like a glimpse into the pure, moving music which fueled the hearts of our ancestors.

I was sent a review copy of Caera's CD.
